The secret to Merlo Coffee’s rich balanced flavour is the roasting profile that Merlo’s roasters strictly follow. Once the mix or blend of beans is determined, the beans can be roasted. After the roasting chamber has reached the desired temperature, beans are poured into the roasting drum. Once the beans reach the desired profile of time, temperature and colour they are then dropped into a cooling drum.
The beans must be cooled down very quickly to stop the roasting process. Once cooled the coffee is packed into bags with one way valves to keep the coffee away from its natural enemies, light moisture and air. If the coffee is not despatched immediately it is stored in a purpose built dehumidified cold room to keep the coffee at its premium freshness.
We think coffee tastes best when it is fresh, so roast daily and then pack and distribute in air locked bags and tins to our own stores, wholesales customers and for online orders.
